I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Tabasum Mir backstage during New York Fashion Week in February. Some may remember her as the drop dead gorgeous cast member from Bravo Network’s The Singles Project. However, she isn’t just a pretty face and is in fact one of the leading dermatologist in New York City. Having been featured in prominent publications such as W, Lucky, Maxim and Shape Magazines respectively while sharing her expertise as a skin care expert on countless TV news programs.
Candice: You specialize in non-invasive and non-surgical cosmetic and derma logical treatments. What does this entail?
Dr. Tabasum: The procedures I specialize in are preventative. Everything you can do short of surgical intervention. There are tons of things that can be done between now and surgery to make you look the best you can look without having to go under the knife.
Candice: You are considered a pioneer in what’s called, a “skin care philosophy”. Can you expound on what that actually is?
Dr. Tabasum: The philosophy is for you to educate yourself about all the options available to you. At (any) age, your skin and about the lifetime approach to skincare as opposed to one-fix wonders. In a nutshell is (like) when you buy a car you go in every year for tune-ups. You should be doing the same for your face. You should always be checking in to see what you could do before things go down hill.
